Job summary

StarCruiser Studio is seeking a Unity Developer to join our production team. You will work on gameplay systems, tools, and optimization across our development pipeline. The role is open on a part-time or full-time basis depending on experience, availability, and project fit.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional Unity development in production.
  • Strong C# and object-oriented programming skills.
  • Experience shipping at least one commercial game on PC or console.
  • Strong understanding of profiling, debugging, memory management and performance optimization.
  • Experience with source control workflows, including Git.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-documented code.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English.
  • Availability for overlap with U.S. working hours

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve core game systems and technical features in Unity.
  • Implement gameplay mechanics and supporting systems based on design and production requirements.
  • Optimize performance, stability, and scalability across target platforms.
  • Build internal tools, editor utilities, and workflow improvements where needed.
  • Support prototyping, iteration, and feature validation during pre-production and production.
  • Collaborate closely with game design to translate gameplay goals into reliable implementation.
  • Participate in technical planning, code reviews, and engineering discussions.
  • Contribute to build readiness, bug fixing, and release-quality polish
