Job summary

Premera Blue Cross is seeking an Underwriting Manager to lead a high-performing team and shape underwriting strategy across the organization. You will blend leadership with underwriting expertise to strengthen operations and support key priorities, while guiding pricing, contracting, and policy provisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field or 4+ years of work experience.
• 5 years of underwriting, regulatory, or health insurance consulting experience.
• Previous underwriting experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy management monitoring reports for tracking financial and membership positions and contract and fulfillment production.
• Manage underwriting, pricing, and/or contracting activities to ensure rates and policy provisions meet risks and profit objectives.
• Manage underwriting processes to meet or exceed turnaround goals and objectives.
• Recruit, hire, and train high-quality underwriting teams and manage performance appraisals.
• Manage budget processes for assigned cost centers within corporate guidelines.
