Job summary

Assurant, Inc. is seeking an Underwriting Intern to join our team for a 12-week immersive internship in the United States.

The program combines hands-on work with development opportunities, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration aimed at building foundational skills in underwriting and risk management. The intern will support risk analysis, portfolio management, reporting, and underwriting processes to drive informed business decisions and profitable growth, gaining experience in data

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years completed and currently enrolled in a 3rd or 4th year undergraduate program in Risk Management, Finance, Business Management, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree candidates will also be considered.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Experience with Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and basic modeling.
Interest in insurance, underwriting, risk assessment, and business analytics.

Responsibilities

Assist Underwriting with data collection, analysis, and reporting of underwriting and portfolio metrics.
Support review and evaluation of underwriting results, trends, risk characteristics, and financial performance.
Prepare underwriting reports, presentations, and business insights for internal stakeholders.
