Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC is seeking a Remote, 1st shift role focused on injecting underground cables for rejuvenation and related field service. The worker will operate TDR waveform and RF locating equipment, set up injection gear, and coordinate with team leaders on planning and safety while traveling as needed.

Ideal candidates have construction background, strong mechanical skills, ability to read circuit maps, and basic MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Background in construction, with experience in an electric utility environment preferred.
• Safe work record and a firm commitment to safety.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable DMV record.
• CDL preferred.
• Passport and ability to travel to Canada preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate TDR waveform and RF locating equipment to perform cable testing and analysis of cable paths, splice locations and neutral corrosion.
• Place and operate cable injection equipment on de-energized cables in transformers, switchgear, junction boxes, and at other end points.
• Perform air flow tests.
• May prepare cable for injection activities (per customer requirements), including electrical craftwork according to quality standards.
• Inject URD and underground feeder cables with Novinium patented repair/rejuvenation fluids using sustained and unsustained rejuvenation technologies.
• Provide field service and set up injection equipment.
• Assist Team Leader with job planning and hazard avoidance.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
