Job summary

LMI is seeking a UI/UX Designer to craft intuitive, visually polished software experiences for the RAS unit, spanning research to production delivery. The role emphasizes reusable design systems and accessibility across mission applications and AI-enabled tools.

The position is remote with potential travel; active Secret clearance is required and will be maintained throughout employment. Collaboration with cybersecurity and engineers is essential to align with mission priorities.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance required.
• 5+ years of professional UI/UX design experience for software applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in interaction design, HCI, UX, visual design, or equivalent.
• Portfolio with user research, interaction and visual design work.
• Proficiency with Figma or comparable tools, including reusable components.
• Experience conducting user research and usability testing and translating findings into design decisions.
• Ability to design complex workflows and information-dense interfaces with reusable design systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct user interviews, workflow observations, and discovery sessions; translate findings into needs, journeys, and requirements.
• Develop information architecture, navigation structures, flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity interfaces and prototypes.
• Design dashboards, data tables, search experiences, forms, and approval workflows for web-based apps.
• Create and maintain a shared design system across products.
• Define interaction states and provide clear feedback and recovery paths.
• Plan usability testing and document findings across iterations.
• Coordinate accessibility with engineering and testing teams.
• Collaborate with PMs, developers, platform engineers, and cybersecurity to align with priorities and constraints.
• Provide annotated designs, components, assets, and acceptance criteria; review implementations.
• Present recommendations and maintain versioned design artifacts.
