Job summary

Cross Key Games is a UK-based indie studio delivering distinctive, systems-driven games with player ownership. We are seeking a designer to own the game's systems, progression and motivation loops on a hands-on prototype project.

You will build and iterate in Unreal Engine 5, collaborating with a small team to turn ideas into playable results within a short development schedule. This 4-month fixed-term role is fully remote in the UK.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of game development experience or equivalent demonstrable work.
• Hands-on Unreal Engine 5 and Blueprint skills.
• Proficient with Git and GitHub, including branching and PRs.

Responsibilities

• Own the design of game systems, progression and player motivation loops.
• Design and iterate progression, rewards, goals and meta-systems.
• Build and iterate directly in Unreal Engine 5 using Blueprints.
• Define how systems interact with and reinforce player, combat and moment-to-moment experience.
• Collaborate in a small dev team to create cohesive gameplay loop from action to progression.
