Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Backend Software Developer for the USAF mission. This remote role requires a TS/SCI clearance and involves developing back-end architectures, RESTful APIs, and database management to support system capabilities and integrations.

The position emphasizes DevSecOps, microservices, and container-based environments with experience across Jira, Jenkins, and GitLab, plus cloud deployments (AWS). Travel up to 10–20% may be required.

Qualifications

• 7 years of overall experience in the functional area.
• Bachelor's degree required (Master's may substitute for 2 years).
• 7 years of software development experience in object-oriented and scripted languages with DevSecOps, microservices, and containers tool suites.
• Demonstrated experience in preparing, conducting, and documenting various systems tests.
• 3 years of experience with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira) and testing web-based applications.
• 3 years of experience participating in software development programs or projects.
• Practical experience developing in a cloud environment.
• Experience with integrating data from unclassified to classified application deployments.
• 5 years of experience with Jenkins and GitLab.
• 5 years of experience with at least five (5) of the following: NPM, Cypress.io, esbuild, Bun, Tomcat, Maven, SonarQube.
• 3 years of recent back-end web design and development experience.
• Demonstrated experience with relational databases, RESTful API development/communication, and system integrations.
• 3 years of experience with AWS Infrastructure, Kubernetes, and RedHat Linux.

Responsibilities

• Perform back-end design and development tasks.
• Develop back-end architectures to support current and new system capabilities and integrations.
• Develop and modify RESTful APIs, database management, and data model optimization.
• Support process improvement, studies, and requirement definitions.
• Contribute to tests and documentation of systems tests.
