Job summary

The Cake is seeking a culturally connected Trend Strategist to forecast Gen Z and Gen Alpha interests for client brands. You will scan social media, fashion, entertainment, and internet culture to spot signals before they trend.

As a remote freelance collaborator, you’ll translate insights into actionable concepts, collaborate with strategy teams, and help brands stay relevant across platforms. Availability in EST business hours is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in trend forecasting, cultural strategy, consumer insights, brand strategy, or related fields.
• Deep understanding of Gen Z and Gen Alpha culture and online communities.
• Strong awareness of fashion, merchandise, emerging platforms, and viral trends.
• Ability to identify trends early and connect them to meaningful brand opportunities.
• Strong research, communication, and conceptual thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify emerging trends across social media, fashion, merchandise, entertainment, and internet culture.
• Spot early signals of viral products, behaviors, and consumer interests.
• Translate cultural insights into actionable brand concepts and creative opportunities.
• Research where consumer culture is heading and recommend innovative ways for brands to stay relevant.
• Collaborate with creative and strategy teams on client projects.
