Job summary

Prisma Health seeks a Trauma Registry Analyst to support the Trauma Program and assist in verification/designation as a Trauma Center by the State Department of Public Health and ACSCOT. The role handles registry data, including abstraction, entry and coding, applying anatomy, physiology and medical terminology to capture complex trauma data at a Prisma Health Trauma Center.

Responsibilities include data validation, AIS and ICD-10 coding, and contributing to performance improvement and research.

Qualifications

• Understanding of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
• Experience with trauma registry data abstraction and coding.
• Familiarity with ICD-10 and AIS coding.
• Knowledge of NTDS, State Registry and TQIP guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients for inclusion in the trauma registry per NTDS and state requirements.
• Abstract clinical data from EMS PCRs, medical records and reports; document demographics, injuries, procedures and outcomes.
• Code diagnoses and procedures using AIS and ICD-10 per guidelines.
• Support PI and research by collecting performance data and reporting trends.
