Job summary

Actalent is hiring a Transmission Line Engineer to design high-voltage transmission facilities from concept through construction, coordinating with engineers, clients, and regulators. The role emphasizes mentoring, project leadership, and ensuring safety and schedule adherence on complex projects.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in utility transmission design, experience with PLS-CADD and AutoCAD, and a Civil or Electrical ABET-accredited degree.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of experience in utilities focused on transmission line design.
• Experience delivering engineering projects from concept through construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering; ABET accreditation may count toward experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering and design activities for transmission line projects including analysis, route selection, material acquisition, structural and foundation design, and project management.
• Prepare project construction documents such as plan and profile drawings, design drawings, specifications, schedules and BOMs.
• Design transmission facilities from 12 kV to 765 kV and ensure compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.
• Model designs using PLS-CADD and optimize line configurations and structures.
• Lead and participate in contractor bid and construction meetings and ensure safety and schedules are met.
