Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC is seeking a Threat Detection & Compliance Engineer to strengthen its cybersecurity posture through the development of detection capabilities, security monitoring, threat hunting, and audit readiness initiatives.

This role blends hands-on security engineering with governance, risk, and compliance activities to ensure controls are effective and aligned with regulatory requirements, across remote environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of cybersecurity experience in threat detection, security engineering, or related disciplines.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms: Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk ES, QRadar, or Elastic Security.
• Experience developing detection rules, alerts, and monitoring processes.
• Strong understanding of auditing, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience supporting audits and responding to auditor requests.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain threat detection and monitoring capabilities across enterprise environments.
• Develop, tune, and optimize SIEM use cases, detection rules, alerts, and correlation logic.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting, investigations, and event analysis to identify risks.
• Collaborate with Security Operations, Incident Response, Infra, and Cloud teams to improve coverage.
• Support audits by providing evidence, documentation, and audit responses.
• Evaluate security controls and recommend enhancements for compliance and risk reduction.
• Analyze logs and telemetry from network, endpoint, cloud, and applications.
• Develop dashboards and reporting to measure detection effectiveness and readiness.
• Automate monitoring, investigations, and reporting through scripting and workflows.
