Job summary

Twin Cities Orthopedics is seeking a Therapy Intake Referral Coordinator in Minneapolis, MN. This full-time, hourly role is remote-eligible with hybrid options and involves inbound/outbound patient communications, intake, referrals, and scheduling across therapy services.

You will maintain patient records, verify insurance, and support access to timely care while collaborating with providers and staff in a HIPAA-compliant environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year of customer service experience; healthcare CS experience preferred.
• Experience with EMR or practice management systems preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for patients via calls, texts, and messaging.
• Coordinate and manage patient intake, registration, referrals, and scheduling.
• Create and maintain accurate patient accounts with up-to-date demographics and insurance data.
• Schedule new and existing patient appointments adhering to guidelines.
• Communicate appointment details and financial responsibilities to patients.
• Verify and document patient insurance, payer requirements, and authorizations as needed.
• Monitor work queues, reports, and scheduling tools to ensure timely access.
• Respond to inquiries and resolve issues professionally and promptly.
• Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of patient communications per HIPAA.
