First American is seeking a Title Examiner to join our agency division, focusing on residential title analysis and chain-of-title review. You will independently examine records, resolve inconsistencies, and prepare title commitments and underwriting guidance as needed.

The role requires a High School diploma and 2+ years of related experience, with Texas title exam experience and state licensure if required. Strong analytical, research, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years directly related experience
• Texas Title Examination experience
• State license(s) if required
• Knowledge of legal terms helpful

Responsabilités

• Performs title examination and examines the chain of title for a wide range of title orders, primarily residential
• Abstracts and analyzes records, such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plat and map books, to determine ownership and legal restrictions and to verify legal description of property and completeness of records
• Resolves most issues such as missing information, incomplete, inaccurate or contradictory information contained in the title documentation
• Prepares initial title commitment documentation based on the application of procedural guidelines
• Prepares and reviews reports for accuracy
• May provide underwriting interpretation within established guidelines
• Other duties as assigned
