Job summary

Varsity Tutors is seeking Texas-certified teachers to join our Live Learning Platform as remote tutors. You’ll leverage your classroom experience to teach K-12 concepts to students online from home, with flexible hours and competitive pay.

Earn incrementally higher pay per session, with potential rates up to $40/hour, and get paid twice weekly. You’ll be matched with students, charged with diagnosing gaps, and supported by our Tutor Copilot for real-time instructional help.

Qualifications

• Active Texas Teaching Certificate (Required): Must hold a current, active teaching certificate issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). You will be asked to provide your certificate number during the application process for verification.
• Subject Matter Expertise in your certified subject area(s) with ability to connect K-12 concepts to student needs across grade levels.

Responsibilities

• Tutor 1-on-1 online sessions with students.
• Diagnose student gaps, adapt pacing and instructional approach to meet individual learning needs.
• Provide engaging, explanation-rich instruction and monitor progress against goals.
