Job summary

First American is seeking an experienced Texas commercial title examiner for a remote role. You will handle complex files end-to-end, review leases, encumbrances, surveys, and legal descriptions, and work closely with agents and underwriting to resolve title and curative issues.

The position requires at least 2 years of commercial title experience, strong knowledge of Schedules A, B, and C, and the ability to manage files independently in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of directly related title examination experience.
• Experience with Texas commercial title files; remote role.
• Ability to independently manage complex commercial files from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of commercial commitments, Schedules A, B, and C.

Responsibilities

• Examine chain of title for complex commercial/industrial properties from opening to completion.
• Perform title examination on high-touch commercial orders requiring accuracy.
• Abstract leases, liens, easements, surveys, and other documents to determine ownership and restrictions.
• Prepare title products and commitments using procedures and Schedules A/B/C.
• Collaborate with agents and underwriting to resolve complex title and curative matters.
• Provide a white-glove service through responsive communication and collaboration.
• Review surveys and title docs to identify material issues and boundary matters.
• Read and map complex legal descriptions and evaluate impact on ownership and boundaries.
• Contribute to a team environment with shared ownership and teamwork.
• Other duties as assigned.
