Job summary

Stony Brook University is seeking a Regional Admissions Counselor to represent the university remotely, covering Houston or Dallas/Fort Worth areas and the Texas territory. You will develop recruitment initiatives, collaborate with university partners, and travel to events to increase enrollment.

The ideal candidate has a Masters, at least one year of professional experience in higher education, and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree (foreign equivalent or higher).
One year of full‑time professional experience in a college or university setting.
Proficiency with technology, office software and communication systems.
Must have a valid Driver’s License with a clean motor vehicle record.

Responsibilities

Represent the university remotely from home in the Houston or Dallas/Fort Worth areas and cover the Texas territory.
Develop and expand recruitment initiatives to increase enrollment from identified territories.
Travel to college fairs, high school visits, and other outreach programs.
Build territory outreach plans and coordinate in-person, virtual, or email follow‑ups.
Engage with students, families, counselors, and partner offices to explain admissions processes.
Interpret data and reports to make follow-up recommendations and optimize yield.
