Job summary

Symetra Financial Corporation is seeking a Test Automation Lead for the Individual Life Division. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategy development to unify test automation across delivery teams.

You will mentor engineers and drive automated quality practices throughout the development lifecycle. The candidate will build scalable automation frameworks, integrate testing into CI/CD, and advance shift-left quality engineering.

Qualifications

Proven experience defining an enterprise test automation strategy across multiple delivery teams.
Hands-on leadership in quality-first engineering and shift-left practices.
Experience delivering in Scrum environments and integrating automated testing into CI/CD.
Strong expertise with UI, API, and end-to-end test automation using modern frameworks.

Responsibilities

Define automated quality gates and validation standards for Azure DevOps pipelines.
Develop and maintain automated tests spanning UI, integration, performance, and security.
Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineers across ILD delivery teams.
Define and track automation metrics and drive improvements in coverage and stability.
Lead root-cause analysis for automation failures and implement preventive improvements.
Present and share cloud-based testing solutions with engineering communities.
