Job summary

GEICO is seeking a Territory Sales Manager for Commercial Trucking in Illinois to grow agency relationships and drive revenue across a designated geographic area. The role focuses on expanding GEICO’s agency distribution, managing a portfolio of truck and commercial accounts, and delivering strategic sales plans.

The position requires travel within the territory, remote work flexibility, and collaboration with product management to identify new opportunities and optimize performance.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts or facilitate conflict resolution, and have strong organization/priority setting skills.
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information.
• Prior experience with driving sales results.
• Prior experience working with different lines of insurance a plus (P&C, Commercial, Life/Health).
• Must be able to, with or without accommodation, perform essential functions including seeing, hearing, typing, and speaking.
• Must be able to speak clearly, empathetically, and professionally via phone.
• Adheres to GEICO Code of Conduct and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Prospects, interviews, and approves new appointments to expand GEICO’s agency distribution.
• Manage agents within a designated area using in-person, virtual, phone, and email to train and manage performance.
• Implements agency program policies and procedures.
• Analyzes territory to plan where to spend time and resources to achieve growth and profitability.
• Applies commercial insurance knowledge to design and deliver effective sales calls to grow agency revenue.
• Prepares pre-call strategies and documents agency plans supporting the sales process.
• Works with product management to identify new opportunities and areas for growth.
• Documents best processes to prospect, qualify and onboard new commercial agencies.
• Trains principals, agents, and reps on GEICO products and processes; provides feedback to product and strategy teams.
• Monitors agent performance and updates leadership with progress and action plans.
• Creates and delivers annual and semi-annual sales plans and reports.
