Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking experienced Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs) for a TeleSANE - Remote Forensic Nurse Expert role (part-time / on-call). Work from a private, secure home or office and provide real-time telemedicine mentorship to SANEs across the nation.

Shifts are 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. Eastern with self-scheduling and a 48-hour monthly expectation, including weekends. This position is remote and not eligible for traditional benefits.

Qualifications

• RN license active and in good standing.
• SANE/forensic nursing certification (CFNC) required.
• Minimum 30 acute sexual assault examinations per year for past 3 years; pediatric Experience.
• Nursing compact licensure upon hire; remote/telehealth capability.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time expert forensic nursing consultation during telehealth examinations.
• Offer 48 hours of overnight call per month with 24 weekend hours via self-scheduling.
• Complete 60+ hours of orientation (virtual and in-person).
• Attend 3 days in-person training in State College within first year; travel expenses covered.
• Attend monthly virtual team meetings; complete QA documentation and post-consult surveys.
• Participate in teleSANE consultation reviews and ongoing education updates.
