Job summary

NWN is seeking a Telecommunications Compliance Manager to lead NWN's multi-state regulatory compliance program. This role reports to the Director of Accounting and collaborates across Finance, Legal, Sales, and Operations to ensure filings and remittances are accurate and timely.

The position is fully remote with East Coast hours, requiring coordination with teams across the organization and travel as needed. The role demands strong knowledge of FCC filings, USF, and state PUC processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Business or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience managing a telecommunications regulatory compliance and filings program.
• Working knowledge of state and federal telecom laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee telecommunications regulatory compliance and filing for multiple entities.
• Prepare and file federal/state filings (FCC Form 499-A/499-Q, Form 477; USF contributions; CPUC filings).
• Manage third-party compliance vendors for filings and remittance.
• Map new SKUs/products for correct telecom tax treatment in the tax engine.
• Collaborate with Customer Success, Order Management, Finance, Legal, and Sales teams on regulatory/tax compliance.
• Advise on regulatory/tax implications of new products and go-to-market changes.
• Oversee audits by state/federal regulators and coordinate responses.
• Monitor changes in telecom laws and update internal processes.
• Maintain filing calendars and audit trails for management reporting.
