Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Technical Writer to produce clear, compliant documentation for backend systems and mobile applications. The role partners with technical teams to define content requirements and create high-quality coverage of software architecture, design, and data solutions.

This is an 18-month contract-to-hire, remote opportunity with Pacific Time alignment. A writing assessment is required; benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience producing, editing, and proofreading technical software documentation.
• Ability to translate complex concepts into clear text and visuals for diverse audiences.
• Experience in regulated environments and audits.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe tools (Acrobat, FrameMaker, Illustrator).
• Familiar with Jira, Confluence, Markdown, HTML, XML, VS Code, Eclipse, Atom, Agile PLM, Oracle Cloud PLM, IBM Rational DOORS or Jama Software, GitHub and GitLab.
• Experience in medical devices, drug discovery, or pharmaceutical domains preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with technical teams to define documentation needs and deliver clear, accurate technical content.
• Create, edit, and maintain documentation for backend components and mobile applications.
• Prepare documents required for Quality Management System compliance in a regulated environment.
• Standardize and simplify writing processes, procedures, and style guidelines.
• Improve documentation development lifecycle practices for quality content delivery.
• Assess audience needs and adjust tone for clarity.
• Conduct document reviews and gather stakeholder input for accuracy.
• Create data flow and component diagrams and related illustrations.
• Author and manage documentation using GitHub-based workflows.
