Job summary
Canon Business Process Services is seeking a Technical Writer to develop and edit technical content for GT maintenance procedures. The role requires understanding complex scientific information and strong writing skills, with collaboration across engineering teams.
The position supports NPI tooling, field procedures, and digital documentation, including conversion to fillable PDFs, metadata tagging, and master index synchronization. Remote-friendly, with comprehensive training and benefits.
Qualifications
- Gas Turbine maintenance/assembly experience
- Formal training in document creation and revision control
- Experience in writing technical procedures or documents
- Microsoft Word/Adobe-based editing and publishing skills
Responsibilities
- Review and understand drawings/diagrams
- Review BOMs for NPI and new tooling
- Revise GT maintenance procedures based on design changes
- Draft, edit, and standardize GT disassembly and reassembly procedures
- Collaborate with Productivity Engineering to update Field Procedures
- Maintain revision control of documents
- Create procedures from templates and update legacy formats
- Digitize documents and ensure metadata tagging in the Master Index
