Job summary

9th Way Insignia in the United States is seeking a Technical Lead Chief Security Architect / Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority for cybersecurity architecture and engineering activities supporting VA programs. You will lead modernization of health IT architectures, guide multidisciplinary teams, and ensure security requirements are integrated from concept through implementation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of enterprise security architecture and information security experience.
• Advanced degree may substitute for up to 5 years of experience.
• Experience leading architecture and security engineering initiatives.
• Experience with cloud, IoT, APIs, VR/XR, 5G, PQC, DLP, cryptography, AI.
• Familiarity with federal policies (NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, CIS Controls, HIPAA).
• Ability to communicate to executives and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level technical leadership for enterprise cybersecurity architecture and engineering across VA environment.
• Lead architecture reviews and translate requirements into security architectures.
• Guide development of Security Reference Architectures and patterns.
• Mentor security architects, cloud engineers, DevSecOps, AI engineers.
• Ensure architectures align with enterprise goals and security policies.
• Support VA governance boards and architecture forums.
• May require up to two onsite travel visits.
