Job summary

Caladwich is seeking an experienced Technical Lead / Chief Security Architect to provide enterprise-level security architecture and engineering leadership for the Department of Veterans Affairs COSE program. The role focuses on defining architectural direction, creating reference architectures, and guiding secure design across cloud, data, mobile, and legacy environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of Enterprise Security Architecture and Information Security experience at a large company or Government agency similar in size and scope to VA.
• Expertise in project management, security architecture, security engineering, enterprise risk management, EA tools, architecture methods, complex analysis, design reviews, trade-off analysis.
• Demonstrated expertise with security frameworks and Federal policies, processes, and standards, including NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, CIS Controls, and HIPAA.
• Master's degree in Cybersecurity or related field and professional security certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise security architecture and engineering activities across systems, applications, cloud, networks, data, identity, platforms, and emerging technologies.
• Develop and govern enterprise security principles, reference architectures, solution architectures, security patterns, standards, and roadmaps.
• Guide architecture processes and products using Enterprise Architecture tools and SABSA methodologies.
• Analyze complex problems, threats, gaps, and modernization options; coordinate architecture design reviews with program leaders.
• Present architecture recommendations and risk decisions to VA governance bodies and senior stakeholders.
• Coordinate with VA stakeholders and contractors to deliver accurate technical documentation and contract deliverables.
