Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Technical Director in the Advanced Consulting Group to lead retirement planning initiatives, leveraging deep ERISA, DOL and IRC expertise to guide plan sponsors and financial professionals. This role drives sales and delivers strategic consulting across tax, legal and technical domains.

This is a fully remote opportunity for candidates with critical industry skills; near Nationwide campuses, in-office collaboration is required 3 days per week.

Qualifications

• Expertise in ERISA, DOL initiatives, and the IRC including monitoring, plan design, compliance and fiduciary governance.
• SIE & Series 6 required within 120 days of hire; a JD strongly desired; CPA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Directs case design with tax and technical support for business planning and qualified retirement plans.
• Provides comprehensive consultation to wholesalers, financial professionals and clients.
• Travels and speaks at industry events on life insurance, annuities, and retirement plans.
• Builds and reviews sales collateral for financial products used in planning.
• Collaborates with Marketing on sales and marketing campaigns for Nationwide Financial channels.
• Authors tax and sales articles and white papers for sophisticated product applications.
