Job summary

Skylight is seeking an Engineering Lead to guide multiple squads, shape technical direction, and stay hands-on while mentoring engineers. You will embed security and compliance throughout delivery and work closely with product, design, and research teams to deliver secure, user-centered government solutions.

You will lead efforts across CI/CD, IaC, automated testing, and modern engineering practices, with a focus on AWS/Azure platforms and secure data exchanges.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams delivering complex, production systems at enterprise scale and managing engineers/tech leads.

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural guidance and oversight for cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and secure data exchanges.
• Standardize engineering practices across squads including CI/CD, IaC, automated testing, and secure DevOps.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and researchers to ensure technical delivery aligns with user needs and priorities.
• Embed compliance and security into delivery from day one, supporting evidence automation and Authority to Operate (ATO).
• Translate program direction into practical, secure technical solutions.
• Mentor engineers, provide technical direction, and raise engineering standards across teams.
• Staff improvements through training and reusable tools and patterns.
