Elder Hanson & Company, Ltd. is a Naperville, IL-based CPA firm seeking an experienced CPA, EA, Tax Accountant, or Tax Preparer for the 2027 tax season.

This is a fully remote, seasonal role with a flexible schedule, ideal for experienced public accounting professionals nationwide. The position offers remote work with a 30+ hour weekly commitment January through April 2027, supporting individual and business tax returns and tax planning services.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of public accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Strong experience preparing individual income tax returns (Form 1040).
• Experience preparing business income tax returns.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state income tax laws.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and QuickBooks Online.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns (Form 1040).
• Prepare business and fiduciary income tax returns (1120-S, 1065, 1041).
• Research federal and state tax issues and identify planning opportunities.
• Assist with client tax planning and consulting.
• Prepare income tax basis financial statements as needed.
• Communicate professionally with clients and team members.
• Work independently while collaborating with a remote team.
• Use Lacerte, QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Office, ShareFile, and OfficeTools.
