Brooklyn Fi, LLC is seeking a Tax Manager to lead review and technical tax work for high-income individuals and entities. The role emphasizes developing staff, resolving complex issues, and collaborating with partners in a fully remote setting.

You will review returns for individuals, S corporations, C corporations, and partnerships, and analyze tax projections while identifying planning opportunities. CPA/EA preferred for this senior position.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of public accounting tax experience.
• Experience preparing and/or reviewing individual income tax returns.
• Experience with partnerships, S corporations, C corporations.
• CPA or EA preferred.
• Strong tax research and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to review work accurately while mentoring junior staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable in a fully remote, technology-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Review federal and multi-state tax returns for high-income and high-net-worth individuals.
• Review federal and state returns for S corporations, C corporations, and partnerships.
• Review individual and business tax projections and identify planning opportunities.
• Research and resolve complex tax issues.
• Review and respond to IRS and state tax notices.
• Collaborate with other managers and partners on complicated client situations.
• Train junior staff on technical tax concepts and return preparation.
• Manage and mentor a small team of junior staff with weekly one-on-ones.
• Provide actionable feedback to staff for progression to reviewer/manager roles.
• Help improve tax workflows, templates, and firm procedures.
• Maintain strong documentation, review, and compliance standards.
