System Six, a 100% remote U.S.-based firm, seeks a Tax Manager to oversee tax compliance, planning, and review for a diverse client portfolio while mentoring staff. You will report to the Head of Tax and collaborate across the team to deliver high-quality service and growth opportunities.

The role requires 5+ years in public accounting, CPA or EA license, and proficiency with Lacerte and QBO. Expect a balance-driven environment with strong compensation and remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of public accounting experience with expertise in tax compliance for individuals, S‑Corporations, C‑Corporations and Partnerships/LLCs.
• Skilled in federal, state, and local tax compliance and reporting, including multi-state filings and specialized areas such as R&D credits and PTET elections.
• Experience reviewing and signing tax returns, conducting first-level reviews of staff work, and providing actionable feedback.
• Proficiency with tax and accounting software (Lacerte and QuickBooks Online preferred, Karbon is a plus).

Responsabilités

• Oversee tax compliance and review for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to regulations.
• Serve as the primary contact for clients, addressing tax inquiries, delivering ad hoc projects, and providing high-quality solutions.
• Conduct first reviews of tax work prepared by staff, provide constructive feedback, and support their professional development.
• Recommend tax strategies that support client goals and explain tax outcomes clearly.
• Mentor and train team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
• Stay current with tax laws, regulations, and client opportunities, identifying proactive planning strategies.
• Assist in process improvement initiatives to enhance internal workflows and client service.
