Richey May, a national accounting and advisory firm, offers a remote opportunity for a Tax Director specializing in blockchain and cryptocurrency matters. The firm has trained professionals since 1985 and serves clients across the United States.

Sponsorship for nonimmigrant visas is not offered. As a Tax Director, you will lead a Tax team, manage client engagements, and drive strategic initiatives related to Blockchain, Crypto, and Digital Currencies (BCDC).

Qualifications

• CPA license in your state of hire
• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
• Experience with tax issues involving blockchain and cryptocurrency matters is a must
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Extensive knowledge of tax research sources
• Strong knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code and related forms, due dates and interrelationships
• Minimum of eight years related experience and/or training

Responsibilities

• Adheres to the highest degree of professional standards and client confidentiality.
• Directs and drives the success of the department.
• Manages the Tax team, identifies needs of the department and strategically implements processes, morale, and reports.
• Provide tax support for Blockchain, Crypto and Digital Currencies (BCDC) initiatives and other crypto projects.
• Analyze the U.S. federal and state tax impact of BCDC initiatives and the needed support.
• Stay informed on crypto market trends, protocol design, consensus mechanisms, scalability, network upgrades, and regulation.
• Identify and recommend internal control improvements and operational efficiencies for the client.
• Manage client accounts including reporting, billing, and new service development.
• Review and sign off on final engagements.
• Participate in practice development and understand client needs to create new opportunities.
• Pursue ongoing professional development through education and training.
