CPA Firm is seeking a Tax Director to lead a high-performing tax team, ensuring the effective implementation of tax strategies for high-net-worth individuals and businesses.

Job Type: Full-time, W2
Location: REMOTE within the US
Compensation: $130,000 - $180,000 DOE

Overview:

Lead a team in providing expert tax services, ensuring compliance and strategic planning for clients.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of tax experience, including roles as a Tax Senior/Associate
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• 2+ years of leadership experience managing remote teams
• EA or CPA certification required
• Proficiency in QBO, QBD, and UltraTax
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and tax laws
• Experience with project management tools (Asana, Notion, Monday, ClickUp) a plus

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development:

• Hire, train, and mentor team members
• Assign projects, review work, and ensure deadlines are met

• Lead client kick-off meetings and maintain proactive communication

Tax Compliance & Advisory:

• Oversee business and individual tax return preparation and review
• Research complex tax strategies and assist with tax notices
• Manage sales tax filings and state reporting

Client Engagement & Consulting:

• Lead quarterly client meetings to review financials and tax projections
• Provide advisory services on estimated tax calculations

Financial Reporting & Review:

• Review financial statements for accuracy and compliance
• Assist with month-end financial statement preparation

Additional Responsibilities:

• Maintain tax databases and project management software
• Implement tax reduction strategies and support accounting functions
