Job summary

ASK Consulting is seeking Tax Associates to support customers through the tax filing experience. This is not a traditional high-volume role; you will act as a customer-facing tax expert, reviewing returns and ensuring an accurate filing experience.

This remote, seasonal part-time position requires a PTIN for 2027, proactive outreach, and collaboration with front-office and back-office teams to deliver quality service. You’ll need solid tax knowledge and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 seasons of paid tax preparation experience.
• At least 30 completed tax returns per season through preparation and/or review.
• Valid PTIN for the 2027 filing year.
• Familiarity with Form 1040 and associated schedules.
• Ability to explain tax concepts to customers clearly.
• Strong written communication and customer service skills.
• College degree preferred in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Taxation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary customer contact throughout the tax engagement.
• Review and validate tax returns prepared by another tax professional.
• Identify errors and provide clear notes for corrections.
• Explain tax outcomes and recommendations in simple language.
• Collaborate with preparers and quality-review teams to deliver a complete customer experience.
• Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions.
• Work toward quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction KPIs.
