Job summary

A&D Engineering, Inc is seeking a Tax Accounting Manager to own sales tax compliance across multiple U.S. jurisdictions and to drive process improvements. You will manage the fixed asset and use tax processes, collaborate with external tax consultants, and optimize tax software and ERP integrations.

The role is an individual contributor position requiring proactive, detail-oriented professional who can operate remotely while supporting cross-functional finance teams and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MST is highly preferred.
• 7+ years of accounting experience with emphasis on U.S. state and local sales/use tax compliance.
• Proficiency in U.S. GAAP and strong Excel skills for large data sets.
• Hands-on experience with tax software (Avalara, Vertex) and ERP systems (NetSuite, Odoo).
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and coordinate with external advisors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file sales, use, and gross receipts tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.
• Oversee fixed asset register for personal property and real estate tax assessments.
• Manage monthly use tax accruals, reconcile tax accounts, and ensure correct tax treatment of purchases.
• Maintain and track tax exemption certificates; respond to jurisdiction notices; coordinate with outsourced compliance providers.
• Identify nexus thresholds and assist in registering new state tax accounts as needed.
