Job summary

Pivotal Talent Search is seeking a Tax and Accounting Client Manager to lead client relationships and oversee delivery of tax, accounting, and bookkeeping services for a portfolio of individuals and professional services businesses.

You will guide a team of Senior Accountants, review tax returns (1040) for business-owner clients, and collaborate on special projects while supporting business development and client communications throughout the year.

Qualifications

• Must hold CPA or IRS Enrolled Agent credential and a bachelor’s degree in accounting, taxation, or finance.
• 5–7 years of experience reviewing individual and entity tax returns, financial statements, and general accounting (HNW and closely held businesses preferred).
• Strong corporate tax background with deep knowledge of S-corporations and basis issues.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for a portfolio of professional services clients.
• Lead virtual client meetings to review financials, tax positions, and planning opportunities.
• Review and finalize entity and individual tax returns for business-owner clients (1040).
• Oversee preparation of annual financial and practice/firm management reports, including overhead and fee analyses.
• Advise on and oversee QuickBooks setup, cleanup, and maintenance (including QuickBooks Online).
• Develop, mentor, and support Senior Accountants and Bookkeepers; provide guidance on complex client issues.
• Help resolve IRS and state tax notices on behalf of clients.
• Collaborate with partners on special tax and accounting projects.
• Support business development by participating in marketing, webinars, and networking events as needed.
• Ensure timely, professional, and proactive communication with clients throughout the year.
