Job summary

Welocalize's Welo Data is seeking experienced linguists to validate translations for AI data projects. You will review English source documents with two Tagalog translations (Variant A and B), choose the preferred version, and provide a written justification. This freelance role is remote (Philippines) with a 2-week commitment and hourly pay.

All samples are reviewed in a blind process by three validators, ensuring quality and consistency across tasks, including audio transcription evaluation.

Qualifications

• Native-level fluency in Tagalog (written and spoken).
• Strong written communication skills in the target language.
• Proficiency in English.
• Background in linguistics, translation, or language quality assessment preferred.
• Ability to work independently with high attention to detail and consistency.
• Familiarity with Romanized script conventions for transliteration tasks.

Responsibilities

• Review English source documents alongside two machine-generated Tagalog translations.
• Evaluate both variants based on accuracy, fluency, and overall translation quality.
• Select the preferred translation and provide a clear written justification for your assessment.
• Review audio files and their corresponding transcriptions, evaluating accuracy, completeness, and overall quality.
• Assess both transcription quality and audio quality according to project guidelines.
• Complete assigned samples independently and within established timelines.
• Adhere strictly to project and client guidelines
