Job Overview

Our Client is seeking a Systems Engineer, Data Platform & Integrations to manage and optimize the connections between its core business systems, data warehouse, and customer access infrastructure.

This role will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining integrations, data pipelines, models, and entitlement logic that support critical business processes across sales, payments, product operations, and reporting. The ideal candidate combines strong Python and SQL skills with experience in APIs, webhooks, SaaS integrations, and systems architecture.

This is a hybrid engineering role that spans data platforms, backend systems, and business systems architecture. The successful candidate will be comfortable making independent technical decisions and building reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, validate, and implement improvements to the company's systems architecture.
  • Own integrations across core business systems, including Stripe, HubSpot, Hivebrite, Slack, Snowflake, AWS RDS, and other third-party tools.
  • Design and maintain reliable data flows between operational, product, sales, and financial systems, including payment workflows and entitlement logic.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines, transformations, and models for customer, subscription, payment, revenue, engagement, and access data.
  • Manage the technical infrastructure supporting customer entitlements and access-control logic.
  • Support system migrations and new tool implementations, including data mapping, quality assurance, and assessment of downstream reporting impacts.
  • Improve data quality, freshness, observability, testing, and monitoring across systems and pipelines.
  • Document system architecture, source-of-truth decisions, data definitions, and technical workflows.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions and independently develop requirements.
  • Communicate technical trade-offs clearly while balancing immediate business needs with long-term maintainability.
Qualifications, Skills, and Key Competencies
  • 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, data engineering, analytics engineering, backend engineering, or business systems engineering.
  • Strong Python experience building integrations, data pipelines, APIs, automations, or backend services.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience working with modern data warehouses such as Snowflake.
  • Experience owning and managing operational databases such as AWS RDS, PostgreSQL, or similar technologies.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining integrations with third-party SaaS platforms such as Slack, Hivebrite, Circle, Notion, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, webhooks, event-driven workflows, and data synchronization.
  • Required experience with payment systems, subscription platforms, and CRM systems.
  • Experience with Stripe or the ability to demonstrate a deep understanding of Stripe's technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with the HubSpot API and experience working with subscription-based businesses are highly preferred.
  • Experience creating entitlement systems, access-control logic, or subscription-based product infrastructure is ideal.
  • Ability to incorporate automated workflows into entitlement and access-control logic.
  • Strong documentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to make sound, scalable architecture decisions in a fast-paced environment.
What Success Looks Like
