Job Title: Remote Surgical Coders

Employment Type: Contract-To-Hire

Location: Remote (US-based, excluding CA, CT, HI, IL, NY, RI, VT, WA)

Hours: Full time, 40 hours, Monday - Friday, must work during Core Hours 9AM - 3PM MST (Flexibility Available After 90 Days)

Start Date: ASAP; 2-3 week onboarding

Job Overview:

We are seeking experienced Specialty Surgical Coders with expertise in a variety of surgical domains including Cardiothoracic Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Obstetric Surgery, and subspecialties such as Podiatry, Urology, ENT, Emergency Department (ED), and Dental Surgery. This role is critical to ensuring accurate coding and compliance with regulatory and payer requirements, supporting optimal reimbursement and documentation integrity.

• Remote Cardio Surgery Coder
• Remote Ortho Surgery Coder
• Remote OB Surgery Coder
• Other Surgical Specialties: General, Podiatry, Urology, ENT, ED, Dental

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes for a wide range of surgical procedures across multiple specialties, with a focus on high-complexity cases.
• Apply a solid understanding of E/M guidelines and coding principles.
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations to maintain high-quality standards.
• Utilize EPIC EMR software for coding assignments.

Qualifications:

• Must have either a CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) credential (CCS-P preferred). Other credentials are beneficial but will not substitute for these requirements.
• Minimum 3+ years of recent, relevant specialty coding experience.
• Strong understanding of Surgical and E/M coding.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining productivity and accuracy.

Schedule & Flexibility:

• Full time, 40 hours, Monday - Friday, must work during Core Hours 9AM - 3PM MST (Initial 90-day commitment to a structured schedule (9AM - 3PM MST).
