Job summary

USI Insurance Services is seeking a Remote Account Manager for the Surety team. The role focuses on proactive, personalized client service for Commercial Lines Surety clients with strong organization and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Commercial Property & Casualty Surety experience in an insurance agency.
• College degree preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of surety coverages, underwriting and rating concepts.
• Knowledge of bonds, bond market selection and issuance.
• Must hold or obtain a Property & Casualty insurance license.
• Notary license within one year of hire (varies by office).
• Comfortable with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of Sagitta/ImageRight preferred.
• Ability to handle complex tasks with multiple variables.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with minimal instruction.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive, personalized support to assigned Commercial Lines Surety clients; maintain 92% retention.
• Handle all aspects related to Commercial Lines Property & Casualty insurance as they relate to Surety.
• Facilitate client signing of indemnity agreements, underwriting process of bond requests, and communication between carrier and client.
• Seek carrier approval for bonds outside lines of authority.
• Issue bonds, riders, endorsements and consents.
• Provide insurance technical expertise to Sales Executives and Account Executives, including analysis of client needs, coverage forms and quotations during the sales process.
• Provide technical expertise for cross-selling opportunities, account development and execution of client requests.
• Capture, assist, design and manage the service platform.
• Contribute information and ideas during client strategy meetings.
• Manage client renewal expirations and avoid coverage lapses.
• Market bond submissions to carriers: prepare applications, submit and ensure timely approvals, quotes and delivery.
• Delegate administrative client tasks to Account Representatives.
• Respond to underwriters’ questions in a timely, professional manner.
• Adhere to Surety Best Practices: confirmation of new and renewal binding, execution of bond documents, changes to coverage.
• Maintain accuracy in agency management systems.
• Follow Surety Company’s line of authority.
• Maintain underwriting e-files and up-to-date financial files on active accounts and work-in-progress schedules.
• Respond to accounting issues and update within prescribed timelines.
• Occasional in-person attendance at face-to-face client meetings.
• Stay informed on surety coverages, products and industry changes.
