Job summary

RTX is seeking a seasoned Supplier Technical Qualification Engineer to drive second-source and alternate-source qualification activities. You will partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Program teams to validate technical capability, assess risks, and ensure suppliers meet configuration, performance, and manufacturing readiness requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in mechanical or systems engineering and component qualification.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and test requirements.
• Experience leading technical projects with cross‑functional teams.
• Experience working with suppliers or subcontractors and providing technical oversight.
• Strong RCCA, validation, DFMA and producibility improvements experience.
• Experience managing schedules, risks and deliverables in fast‑paced environments.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills for technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Execute second‑source and alternate‑source qualification projects with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality teams.
• Evaluate supplier capability, processes and readiness to meet program requirements.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards for configuration compliance.
• Lead or support component- and system-level testing to validate performance and integration for new sources.
• Conduct technical reviews, witness critical process steps, and assess validation evidence.
• Lead or support RCCA activities with suppliers to resolve technical gaps.
• Develop and maintain qualification plans, schedules and risk registers for onboarding.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software and test engineering to validate manufacturability and resolve issues.
• Document results and communicate status and recommendations to leadership.
• Contribute to source‑to‑scale and capacity initiatives for production ramp.
