Job summary

ACS Professional Staffing is seeking a Mid-Level Substation Engineer to support high-voltage substation projects. You will contribute to physical design packages, engineering calculations, construction drawings, grounding plans, BOMs, and project deliverables with guidance from senior engineers.

The role is full-time and remote, open to West Coast candidates. Ideal for an engineer with hands-on substation design exposure seeking growth toward senior roles.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3–6 years in substation engineering or high-voltage design.
• Experience with 69kV+ substation design packages and related calculations.

Responsibilities

• Support design of high-voltage substation systems per standards.
• Develop physical substation design deliverables and BOMs.
• Perform grounding, protection, sizing, and conduit calculations.
• Assist with preliminary engineering, detailed design, and bid packages.
• Coordinate with senior engineers, designers, PMs, vendors and leads.
• Review drawings for accuracy and code compliance.
• Support QA reviews and implement client feedback.
• Prepare technical docs, specs, and project deliverables.
• Assist construction with RFIs, submittals, and field questions.
• Participate in project meetings and communicate updates clearly.
• Travel to client/sites as needed.
