Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company is seeking a Recovery Representative I to manage subrogation recoveries across first-party claims, including physical damage, cargo, and property losses, coordinating with adjusters and subrogation attorneys.

You will maintain diary systems, review invoices, pursue recoveries from responsible parties and insurers, and ensure timely follow-up within IIS, Apollo, and Duck Creek.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 1–2 years of related work experience.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Review first party claims and evaluate subrogation potential by analyzing loss facts and liability.
• Assign adjusters/experts and coordinate subrogation investigations.
• Pursue recovery from responsible parties/insurers and review settlements.
• Coordinate with subrogation attorneys when needed to enforce subrogation demands.
• Maintain diary system and ensure prompt follow-up to maximize collections.
