Job summary

LMI Consulting, LLC is seeking a Subcontracts & Purchasing Specialist to manage end-to-end subcontracts and procurement for government and commercial programs in a US-Remote setting. You will ensure FAR/DFARS compliance, support manufacturing and program execution, and lead negotiation of terms and licenses.

You will collaborate with program management, engineering, and manufacturing teams; develop RFQs/RFPs; perform price/cost analysis; and monitor supplier performance to achieve best value

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of subcontracts administration, procurement or purchasing in government contracting.
• Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and related regulations.
• Experience supporting manufacturing environments and procurement of materials.
• Negotiating commercial terms and conditions, including software or licensing agreements.
• Cost/price analysis experience and evaluation of supplier proposals.

Responsibilities

• Administer the full lifecycle of subcontracts and purchase orders, including solicitation, evaluation, negotiation, award, and closeout.
• Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and company purchasing policies.
• Serve as primary interface between internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Develop and issue RFQs/RFPs; perform price/cost analysis and evaluate supplier proposals.
• Evaluate supplier proposals for cost, technical acceptability, and compliance.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, terms and licensing agreements to mitigate risk.
• Procure materials and services aligned with production schedules and technical requirements.
• Draft, review, and negotiate subcontract terms including data rights and IP provisions.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and subcontracts per internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and address issues proactively.
• Maintain procurement files and support audits.
• Support small business utilization goals and supplier diversity initiatives.
• Collaborate with legal, finance, and program teams to resolve contractual issues.
