Job summary

Hanwha Qcells USA Corp is seeking a Subcontracts Manager in Houston, TX to drive the subcontract buyout process from RFP to contract execution. You will maintain vendor pre-qualification data and monitor performance on high-value projects.

The role requires coordinating with multiple internal teams, developing complex contracts, and ensuring cost control while traveling up to 30%. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States and can work in a remote/onsite hybrid model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in construction contracts management and/or procurement.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in solar/construction projects at or above $30M in procurement/subcontracting.
• Preferred experience in Solar or Renewable Energy.
• Knowledge in contract management.
• Change order management experience.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced professional environment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficient with ERP systems and SAP.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize subcontractor procurement.
• Manage RFP process with limited direction from the Director of Cost Manage.
• Prepare RFPs to qualified subcontractors.
• Establish, maintain and meet bid schedule.
• Obtain necessary documents from stakeholders to create RFPs.
• Obtain bids and maintain bidders list.
• Bid evaluations by preparing bid analysis for Manager review.
• Develop and negotiate Subcontract & Supply Agreements (as needed), Change Orders and related documents.
• Review, compare and evaluate subcontractor proposals and historical pricing for reasonable pricing and opportunities for savings.
• Negotiate commercial terms per company policies and guidelines.
• Ensure prime contract flow-downs are incorporated into subcontract documents.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with contract and project requirements.
• Ensure project costs are categorized when submitting subcontracts for approvals; adjust estimates vs actuals.
• Support Project Management with contract information to resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate Purchasing records.
