Job summary

ACCEL Schools' Virtual Preparatory Academy of Oklahoma seeks a dedicated Student Success Coach to manage onboarding, core interventions, and support services for assigned students, following established guidelines. You will serve as the primary contact for new students and families, ensuring a strong start and ongoing engagement.

Although this is an online position, travel for state testing and student events is required several times per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, social services, or related field.
• Prior experience working as a teacher tutor, counselor, or mentor to youth.
• Prior marketing experience including social media, events, and communications.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including Google Docs, MS Office Suite, e-mail, and internet applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong data collection and analysis skills.
• Understanding of and ability to manage confidential information.
• Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work with a distributed workforce and clientele.
• Ability to pass state and federal background checks.

Responsibilities

• Support new and returning students and families through onboarding.
• Maintain weekly open office hours/help sessions for new students and families.
• Make welcome calls with homeroom teacher.
• Follow up on non-completion items for new students.
• Identify issues and coordinate with other departments for resolution.
• Assist Admissions Counseling with transcripts and course selection.
• Serve as primary contact for administration in addressing barriers to goals.
• Provide strategies to help students and parents communicate with teachers.
• Facilitate training and provide academic resources to increase achievement.
• Collaborate with students to check progress and accountability.
• Work with teachers and parents on evaluation of progress and objectives.
• Prepare for and attend student gatherings.
