Job summary

MK Consulting Group seeks a Structural Engineer-Steel Construction (Remote) to design and check structural steel components, steel joists and metal deck in accordance with contract documents and codes. You will design building components with computer software, review contracts and drawings, and prepare shop fabrication documents for fabrication teams.

PE is preferred but not required; must be a US citizen.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in structural engineering or related field.
PE preferred but not required; licensure preferred.
Experience with structural steel design and codes (AISC, SDI, SJI, AWS).

Responsibilities

Perform structural steel design to ensure members and welds meet specifications and codes.
Verify steel deck specifications based on contract documents.
Design building components using computer software and supplementary tools.
Redesign members for economy and profitability, compare design weight with sales weight.
Review documents and drafting for completeness and special loading conditions.
Generate shop fabrication documents and resolve questions from fabrication facility.
