Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Structural Designer to support the Oak Ridge, TN office. The role involves participating in the design process, developing BIM models, and producing drawings and construction documents for steel, concrete, and masonry structures.

The position offers potential for in-office or remote work with a strong Oak Ridge preference and quarterly travel to the office for remote staff. Ideal candidates will have 5–15 years in industrial, commercial, and/or nuclear projects, proficiency

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
• 5-15 years of industrial, commercial, and/or nuclear projects experience.
• Ability to follow established quality procedures and ensure procedural compliance.
• Competence using Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to learn new software for project success.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements.
• Experience using Revit and/or Tekla for BIM modeling and drawing production.
• Knowledge of industry design standards (AISC, ACI, IBC).
• Ability to resolve interdisciplinary model clashes at a basic level.
• Experience in detailing steel and concrete drawings.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design process and assist in BIM modeling and drawing production.
• Develop BIM models, design drawings, and construction documents for steel, concrete, and masonry structures.
• Support the Oak Ridge, TN office and adapt to project-driven changes.
