Job summary

RK&K is hiring Structural Project Engineers to join our growing Structures team. You will design and analyze transportation structures, with emphasis on bridges, and contribute to project delivery across multiple sites, including remote capabilities.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in civil engineering for bridges, a Structures-focused degree, and a PE or path to licensure within six months, plus familiarity with DOT standards and QA/QC.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of civil engineering experience focused on bridge design/transportation projects.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with emphasis on Structures.
• PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Familiarity with local DOT standards, AASHTO, LRFD, etc.
• Adherence to QA/QC requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design bridge structures meeting project requirements and regulatory standards.
• Perform structural analyses using industry software (MicroStation, Leap Bridge, AASHTOWare BrR, OpenBridge Designer).
• Develop detailed design drawings for construction.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage bridges from inception to completion.
• Coordinate with contractors and authorities to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.
• Maintain quality and compliance throughout design and construction.
• Review design calculations, drawings, and specs for accuracy and safety.
• Build client relationships by understanding needs and delivering innovative solutions.
