Job summary

Emerald Cities Collaborative (ECC) is seeking two graduate research interns to support beta testing, refinement, and development of city-level assessment tools. This remote internship (15–25 hours/week) runs Sept 8–Dec 18, 2026, with a salary of $24-$35/hour.

Reports to the Director of Strategic Programs and Partnerships, offering hands-on experience in research, data analysis, and climate-focused planning.

Qualifications

• Graduate program in urban planning, public policy, sustainability, data science, or related field.
• Strong research, analytical, and quantitative skills.
• Interest in climate equity, community development, environmental justice, sustainability, or economic inclusion.
• Detail oriented and able to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work independently and in a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 including Excel, Teams, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Support structured data collection and scoring using established criteria.
• Assist with data sources, indicators, and data gaps documentation.
• Contribute to testing tools and quality assurance of scoring inputs.
• Document methodology decisions and recommendations.
• Support development of operational guidance and visual deliverables.
