Job summary

Axios is seeking an Associate Director, Client Partnerships (remote-friendly, DC preferred) to cultivate and grow revenue through strategic relationships with advocacy groups, non-profits, and policy organizations. The role focuses on hunting new opportunities while nurturing existing client relationships and collaborating with internal teams to deliver results.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the digital media/news industry or sales.
• Established relationships with key agencies and brands.
• Understanding of the advocacy landscape in Washington, D.C. with established stakeholder relationships.
• Experience in a media or strategy planning environment.
• Familiarity with digital media, online marketing technology, and Axios’ competitive landscape.
• Collaborative, cross-functional teamwork.
• Willingness to travel for industry events and networking.
• Growth mindset and drive to learn.
• Ability to balance outbound sales with nurturing inbound leads and existing client relationships.
• Track record of hitting targets and quotas.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with advocacy groups, non-profits, policy organizations, and related agencies.
• Act as a brand ambassador for Axios at events and within the advocacy community.
• Identify and pursue new partnership opportunities to drive revenue and expand Axios's presence in the advocacy space.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure successful execution of partnership initiatives.
