Job summary

Connect for Health Colorado, a public nonprofit marketplace established by the Colorado General Assembly, seeks an External Affairs Advisor. Qualifications

• 5+ years of stakeholder engagement experience.
• Thorough knowledge of ACA and health insurance exchanges.
• Familiarity with Connect for Health Colorado’s stakeholder organizations.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience in facilitation, collaboration, and coordination of stakeholder discussions.
• Ability to think strategically and creatively with analytical skills.
• Public speaking experience with large groups.

Responsibilities

• Represent the organization externally at stakeholder meetings, coalitions, government meetings, and other forums for senior leadership.
• Lead government relations programs with CEO and Chief Policy and External Affairs Officer.
• Develop and implement C4HCO external relations strategy.
• Track legislative and political developments and prepare leaders for meetings; coordinate policy positions with Leadership and Board.
• Prepare talking points, stakeholder profiles, briefs, presentations and recommendations for executives.
• Serve as staff lead for the Board Advisory Group and maintain key external relationships.
• Inform strategic communications by sharing insights from external stakeholders.
• Support leadership groups, including the Executive Leadership Team and Board committees.
• Attend monthly internal leadership meetings as the government relations representative.
• Analyze data to inform strategic decision-making.
